Thanks to the generosity of Blue Willow Bookshop some of our students attended a virtual author visit with Gilly Segal and Kimberly Jones today in the library to discuss their new book “Why We Fly.”
The authors shared with students the research they did to write the book, both about athletes and political statements, and about the incredible athletic feats of cheerleaders.
Students also got to engage in a question and answer session and ask authors about the book.
A number of students were also given free copies of the book thanks to the generosity of Marco Zannier-Virginillo and the Aldine ISD Libraries.
