Visual Arts

Art 1 is a chance for students to discover their creativity while learning the basics of visual art. Throughout the year, students will explore different materials like drawing, painting, collage, and mixed media. They’ll practice important skills such as observation, shading, and composition, while also learning about artists and cultures that shape the art world. Most importantly, students will develop confidence in expressing their own ideas and creating artwork that reflects who they are.

Dance

Dance 1:

Students will experience the basics of various dances styles, such as ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, contemporary, modern, cultural, social dance, anatomy, and production.

The students will also learn dance history, terminology, choreography and be assessed through skill evaluations, written/digital assignments, and presentations.

Ike 9 Dance Company:
We represent Eisenhower Ninth Grade School through dance and performance. The company performs at various events held at the school and around the district such as Eisenhower Varsity Football Games, Winter & Spring Show, Cultural Day Programs and Regional & State Dance Competitions.

Theatre

Under the direction of Kristin Wilson, the Eisenhower Ninth Grade College Prep Theatre program introduces students to the fundamentals of performance. Students build confidence while exploring acting, improvisation, voice, and movement in a creative, supportive environment. Theatre Arts fosters self confidence, discipline, and leadership by encouraging students to learn through practice and collaboration. Beyond the stage, these experiences provide real world skills in communication, teamwork, and self expression.
