She Builds is a career exploration event designed to introduce young women to the career opportunities construction industry offers. Our girls had a chance to hear a panel discussion with professional women in the fields of architecture, engineering, project management, and building code reinforcements. The girls also had a chance to handle power tools and work with interactive displays. The weather did not permit it, but they also had large machinery that the girls could have experienced (forklifts).
Special shout to Ms. Derrick and Ms. Johnson for introducing our girls to what is possible and for expanding their horizons! Swoop, swoop!
