A huge SWOOP SWOOP to our Ike 9 art students! This weekend they competed at their VASE competition and we had some outstanding performances. For those of you who don’t know as much about VASE and the scoring system VASE students are rated individually on a scale of 1-4 with 4 being the highest. They must do a student lead interview with a judge on their artwork and answer questions that show their knowledge about art and how that knowledge is reflected in their work.
Out of the ten students that participated, four students received top ratings of a 4- Dijonay Elias, Johnny Gill, Mario Taboada, and Juan Vaca. Another four students received ratings of a 3, Edgar Arizmendi, John Doung (2 works), Amy Reynaga, Jose Rodriguez. These are amazing ratings and a great performance from beginning artists.
