January 29th Mrs. Harding’s art students visited the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Students enjoyed a docent led tour of the current exhibit Escaping Earth: The Kinetic Work of Casey Curran. Students were allowed to interact with Curran’s artwork and explore the intersection of craft and art by participating in a workshop with one of the center’s resident artists. The resident artist Lauren Eckert guided students through the process of creating and designing their own wearable art jewelry pieces. Participants enjoyed having their own piece of wearable art to bring back to school and share.
